The Board of Nursing and Board of Healing Arts have approved the final draft of the collaborative practice rules required to implement controlled substance prescriptive authority for APRNs. The rules have been forwarded on to the Pharmacy Board and BNDD for their review. The legislature needs to appropriate funding for a BNDD database to cross preference physicians with APRNs and PAs before the rules can progress through the rule making process and be implemented.
